Sanitizating VOLTstack Portable Generators

Portable Power Solutions is dedicated to safely supporting its customers and partners.

In order to return to work safely while there is still risk of community spread, Portable Power Solutions recognizes the need to reassure our production, rental and distribution partners that safety procedures are in place to minimize risk of transmission in the course of rental operations.

Applying recommendations made by Health Canada, the CDC and public health officials, the objective of this document is to proactively provide a guideline on the sanitization and use of the VOLTstack power stations during this pandemic.

Steps We Are Taking:

At Portable Power Solutions, we are taking the following steps to ensure our equipment remains sanitized and functioning.

1. All assets are disinfected, using the guidelines below, before entering the Portable Power Solutions storage facility.

2. All assets are disinfected, using the guidelines below, upon exiting the Portable Power Solutions warehouse.

3. All deliveries, pickups and interactions with external staff/vendors/contacts are conducted in PPE to limit transference.

4. Rentals have been allocated exclusively to essential businesses as per official guidelines.

Our Dedication to Customers

At Portable Power Solutions, our customers come first. Our dedication to safety and the highest level of service remains paramount, and we welcome any inquiry as to the operation, use and sanitization of the VOLTstack, and the actions taken by Portable Power Solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sanitizing the VOLTstack

The following sanitization instructions are recommendations based on official guidelines presented by the Canadian Health Authorities and the CDC. Attention: These guidelines have not been approved or tested by any health or medical authority.

1. Before disinfecting your VOLTstack, ensure that the unit is completely OFF. The means that the Master Battery Button(s) on the back of the unit are off, and not illuminated.

2. Personnel involved in disinfection should wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assume that all surfaces of the VOLTstack are contaminated.

3. Use or prepare a disinfectant solution approved by your regional health authority. As a Canadian company, we use disinfectant products listed here. We recommend using Lysol Multi-surface Cleaner, Sanitol and Stericide.

4. Apply disinfectant directly to the outer surfaces of the VOLTstack either by hand cloth, or with a sprayer, with particular attention paid to areas of frequent contact, including: a. the lid b. the handles c. all button and connection-point covers d. all buttons and circuit breakers e. the wheel brake.

5. Ensure that the VOLTstack unit is completely dry before using it again. Moisture in or on the unit, particularly at the AC outlets, increases risk of malfunction or electric shock.

6. Once all surfaces have been disinfected, personnel should remove PPE safely, and immediately wash their hands for at least 20 seconds.

Caution: Things to Know

do-not-symbol.jpg
  • DO NOT deliberately spray disinfectant into the ventilation ducts of the VOLTstack

  • Use solvents such as isopropyl to disinfect your VOLTstack

  • Reusable PPE should not be shared between personnel

  • NOTE: Misting and/or fogging disinfection procedures are not recommended, as they are more likely to moisten the interior of the VOLTstack, which can increase the risk of malfunction or electric shock.
